The Seven Days of Monza – 1972
This film follows a seven day endurance test on the famous Monza circuit for two Ford Transits powered by the new 2.4 litre “York” diesel engine. A team of top drivers – including Roger Clark and Bengt Sodestrom – drove 4 hour shifts in “an incredible non-stop maximum speed battle against time”. Ford took three world endurance records – all without a single mechanical breakdown – over the 168 hours and 12,000 miles covered at an average speed of 74 mph.
